Tandem Kayaking

By K.L. Amadio

Kayaking is an increasingly popular adventure sport. Initially, kayaks were designed to accommodate only one person. Now, with the advent of tandem kayaks you can navigate through rapids, paddle beautiful oceans or glide across still lakes and through hidden waterways together in the same boat.

Tandem kayaks are sometimes called doubles because two people can enjoy the experience together. These tandem kayaks are great for beginners, especially if you are a little nervous about being alone in water. Pair up with a buddy and share a wonderful kayak journey.

There are no rules about who can travel with you, anyone from your kids, parents or even your pet can accompany you on a kayaking trip. The best thing about tandem kayaks is that second person doesn't have to paddle if they don't wish to or are just not physically up to the challenge. They can merely sit while you take them on the most adventurous and thrilling tour of your chosen waterways.

Tandem kayaks are wider so they are much more stable than single-man kayaks. This means that the additional person and you will still enjoy a safe kayaking experience.

Tandem kayaking is a good opportunity for families. Very young children can always be seated in Mom or Dad's lap, or if old enough, the kids can be seated between parents where you can keep tabs on them, ensuring a safe trip.

The most important question you need to ask before heading out is "Who is sitting where?" To ensure a smooth and safe journey, seating arrangement must be considered.

Consider weight and size of everyone in the party and try to divvy up as evenly as possible per boat. If the more experienced kayaker sits in the rear then he or she can properly direct the boat since the person seated in back steers. Sometimes, even the weight of paddle will determine seating arrangements; but remember that the greater weight should be kept to the rear seat.

Each pair of tandem boaters need to work together. If both partners are able to paddle, the tandem kayak will make great speed through the water. It's important to unify your strokes to avoid clashing the paddles which results in slowing down the boat and is much less efficient.

Try kayaking in tandem with your family and keep in mind that teamwork is the main ingredient for success.

Why Is This Used Car So Cheap

By Warren Scott

Buying a used can some times be a challenge. Can I trust the person that I am buying from? How do I know if it is a good deal? Am I paying to much for this car? These are just a few of the questions that run through our head as we prepare to buy that used car. We also want to get the best car for the money. I am sure that we have all run into the used car ad that has an incredibly cheap price on it. Is it to good to be true? Good question!

The first thing that we need to remember is that people like money, and they don't normally give things away to strangers. If you find a used car that seems to be priced way to low then there is a good chance that something is wrong with the car. In a situation like this you don't want to buy the car no matter what!

The first place to look is the title. The title is designed to keep all the major details of that specific car. If it has been totaled it will state that very clearly on the title. So, you should always ask the owner to see the title of the car even before driving it. If there is some reason why they don't have it with them, or they can't find it but will get it to you when you pay for the car; be very careful!

You also need to be ware if the owner tells you that he lost the title of the vehicle so he has gotten a new one. This can be done to eliminate the salvaged title, or hide a high amount of miles on the car. When the title is unclear or looks clean but you are still unsure then resort to the next step of inspection.

When I was younger I can remember buying a truck that was a lemon! I didn't take the proper precautions and I lost some money in the deal. I was suspicious of the truck from the beginning. The miles were extremely low for the amount that the seller was asking for. I wanted the truck though, so I just listened to the words of the seller, "it is a little dirty, that is why it looks so used". I know, I know, I should have walked away right then. Used, really used, normally equals lots of miles. But as I said, I was fooled in the desire to have a new truck.

I enjoyed the truck and had no major problems with it for a few years. Then I thought it was time to retire from a truck and get a car. So, I listed the truck hoping to get a good amount of money for it. To my surprise, the first interested person bought the truck. Yep, he took the VIN and told me he would be back within 48 hours to give me a check. That was easy!

Oh how quickly the story changed. Two hours later he called me back and informed me that he could no longer buy the truck. I was perplexed! He went on to tell me that he checked online and the vehicle with that VIN actually had over 100,000 miles. That's right a mechanic registered it online when it was just about to turn 100,000 miles and now I was stuck with a car not even worth what I owed on it. The buyer was still interested to buy the truck but for half of the asking price!

What did I do? I took the hit. I lowered the price and told people that I wasn't for sure if the miles were accurate or not. It took much longer to sell and I didn't get nearly the money that I had expected. I also was a little mad at myself for not checking the VIN online myself before buying the truck. Oh well, live and learn right!

If you are unsure about the car you are considering buying then checking it out online. This is the whole purpose of the VIN and it can be very helpful to you. Even if it costs you some money to get a report, it can save you a lot in the future.

So, remember this as you continue on your used car search. If you find a deal that is to good to be true, then it normally is! I'm not saying that you can't find good deals, but these deals normally come from someone that you know and can trust. Not from an ad in the paper. I hope that you do find your dream car, and happy hunting!

Tips for an Unforgettable Wine Country Tour in a Napa Valley Limo

By Sam Lavasani

You don't have to be a wine aficionado to enjoy a trip to California's world-famous Napa Valley wine country as the region features something interesting for everyone and draws visitors from all over the world. The countryside is gorgeous, the food is legendary, the people are friendly and knowledgeable, and the wine has earned a reputation for excellence. And there's no better way to experience all that the region has to offer than traveling in a Napa Valley limousine.

Napa Valley limos come equipped with their own designated driver so you can concentrate on having a great time and sample some of the world's finest wines without worrying about traffic, maps, or overindulging. If you're planning a wine country tour in a Napa Valley Limousine, use these tips to make your trip an unforgettable experience!

Conduct some research online before you leave - Do some homework and make a list of all the places you want to visit in Napa Valley and then decide which destinations are essential and which are secondary. There are plenty of wine tour packages out there but part of the fun of renting a Napa Valley limousine for the day is the ability to be flexible and spontaneous.

Consider going in the off-season - Napa Valley's off-season runs from November through April and by going during the slower months, you'll enjoy less traffic, lower rates for lodging, and greater access to the winemakers themselves for questions and insight into their craft.

Ask your Napa Valley limo rental agency for an experienced wine country chauffeur - When reserving your Napa Valley limousine, ask for a chauffeur with extensive knowledge of the area. An experienced driver will know several unique wineries that are off the beaten track and allow you to discover some great wines that have been overlooked.

See if reservations will be required - Some wineries require reservations for tastings due to local laws so make reservations before you leave or call ahead if you're making an unplanned stop.

Start early and eat a hearty breakfast - Wineries are typically open between 10 AM and 4:30 PM so if San Francisco is your starting point, plan on leaving the city no later than 9 AM for the 90 minute trip to the Valley. Eating a good breakfast primes your palate for tasting wine and helps you avoid feeling drowsy in the afternoon.

Ask your chauffeur to avoid Highway 29 - Even in the off-season, Highway 29 can get busy and there are lots of potential bottlenecks as it's one of the main routes through the Valley. Have your chauffeur stick to secondary roads and you'll avoid the traffic and touristy places and experience more of the real flavor of Napa Valley.

Don't go on a Saturday - Saturdays are consistently the busiest days of the week for wineries and restaurants in Napa Valley with lots of buses and tours in the area. Sundays are slightly less busy but Mondays through Thursdays are often your best bet for a leisurely day of wining and dining through the region.

Picnic lunch or restaurant? - The choice is up to you! There are plenty of terrific spots to enjoy a picnic lunch with a nice wine that you found along the way and no shortage of places in the area that specialize in preparing picnic lunches for daytrippers. However, Napa Valley is home to some fantastic restaurants that specialize in a wide range of cuisines including the restaurants at the Culinary Institute of America's Greystone campus in St. Helena.

But no matter whether you're in the mood for a white linen napkin lunch experience or a five napkin burger experience, you're sure to find some terrific food at any of the region's restaurants. You can even ask your Napa Valley limo driver to recommend a local greasy spoon with great food at reasonable prices.

Use these tips to help you plan a wonderful trip through the region and perhaps consider a Napa Valley limousine with a little extra style such as a vintage convertible or a classic Rolls-Royce! No matter when you visit the area or your mode of transportation, you're certain to have a great time in one of the world's great wine-producing regions!

08 Ford focus Revies

By Rodney Klinger

Vehicle Overview Ford's popular Focus compact car has been spruced up for 2008 with new styling inside and out. A new two-door coupe has been added to the lineup, too, but only the coupe and sedan models will be available for 2008. Available in base SE or uplevel SEL trim levels, the Focus arrives this fall.

Exterior The Focus has adopted a version of Ford's now-signature bar-style grille that's on the front of the Fusion and the Edge. The Focus' grille only gets two horizontal bars, though, with a wide gap between the lower bar and the front bumper. The restyled headlights meet the edge of the grille and wrap around into the front fenders, which now have chrome trim pieces on SEL models. New taillights are present, and the sedan's trunklid has a cleaner appearance thanks to the license plate's migration to the rear bumper.

The 2008 Focus sedan is a little wider and taller than its predecessor, but retains that model's 102.9-inch wheelbase and is about the same length overall. The suspension still uses struts in front and a multilink setup in the rear, but it has new springs, shock absorbers and stabilizer bars. The Focus is available with either 15- or 16-inch wheels.

The five-seat Focus' extensive interior changes include a new instrument cluster, steering wheel, center control layout and dashboard design. Gauges and buttons now have blue backlighting. The SEL's dash, center stack and center console make extensive use of silver-metallic trim pieces, while SE models get a dark stone dash. At 39.2 inches, front headroom is about the same as before; front legroom is up about an inch to 41.6 inches. Cloth seats are standard and leather is available.

The audio system readout has been consolidated in a dash-top display. While the display is closer to the driver's eyes than a regular stereo head unit's, the ergonomic flipside is that it introduces one more place for the driver to look when changing the radio channel: once at the buttons and then up to the readout to check the results. Selectable ambient lighting for the cupholders and footwells is available, and the system has seven different hues with which to customize the look of the interior.

The Focus can also have Ford's new Sync communication and entertainment system. Sync features Bluetooth-based connectivity for up to six cell phones. It can control MP3 players using voice commands or cabin controls when they're connected to the system's USB port.

Under the Hood The Focus is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces an estimated 136 horsepower (130 hp in California). Five-speed manual and four-speed automatic transmissions are available

Safety Side-impact airbags for the front seats and side curtain airbags are standard. Antilock brakes are available.

AARP To The Rescue With Car Insurance Discounts

By Rob Gormly

You're retired now and have had a great driving record all your life. Don't you think you deserve a break on these high car insurance premiums you have been paying for years. AARP comes to the rescue with full coverage for the retired driver at a discount. Sure you've heard of AARP insurance, but you probably don't know what they offer. One of their great benefits is First Accident Forgiveness. They know that just because you had one bad day you shouldn't be penalized. If you have not had an accident or major traffic violation in the past five years you are in luck. You qualify for AARP's First Accident Forgiveness.

How does a reduced deductible sound? AARP auto insurance offers that as well. If you can keep a clean driving record you can reduce your deductible $150. In addition AARP auto insurance will continue to reduce your deductible by $50 each year until the deductible amount actually reaches $0. That is amazing, but they know that your retirement funds are important to you so they want to reward you for keeping an excellent driving record.

AARP also believes that if an accident is not you fault, you shouldn't have to pay a deductible. So that is what they do. If you are in an accident and the other driver is at fault, there is no deductible for you. They will also reward you even further if the repair is made at a shop they approve before hand.

AARP provides this special auto insurance only to its members. So, to get it, you have to be an AARP member. Once you are an AARP member this is just one of the many benefits you can enjoy. You may already know that AARP is not an insurance company. What they have done is set up a special AARP members program with The Hartford Insurance Company.

A lot of insurance companies only guarantee their rates for 6 months. But the AARP policy is different. The AARP policy locks them into your insurance rate for a whole year. That's right, 12 months. As long as can drive an pay your premiums, they have to continue renewing your policy.

We have talked about some great benefits and discounts, but they we are not through. The safer you and your car are the more discounts you are eligible for. Have you taken a defensive driving course lately? If not, get to it. A defensive driving course may get you 10% or more off your insurance premium. Does your car have anti-theft systems; airbags, anti lock brakes? All of these things can help reduce you car insurance premiums. Being proactive and safe puts the ball in your court so that you can reduce your auto insurance costs.

It is nice that AARP recognizes our experience and driving record as we get older. After a lifetime of good driving habits and a safe record, they offer us a good deal just when we need it the most. They know we are good drivers and want us as clients because we will continue our safe driving ways. It's a good deal for everyone. AARP gets safe drives for clients, and we get lower insurance premiums. Everyone wins.

Keep Your Gasoline Bill In Check

By Ron Farley

Free gasoline for all! What a wonderful idea. While free gas is not going to happen anytime soon, there are steps you can take to lower your fuel bill, and dramatically, in some cases.

My name is Ron Farley and I am a fanatical researcher. I remember as a young man, I devoured every copy of Popular Mechanics and Popular Science magazines I could lay my hands on. I had an insatiable appetite for this type of information.

The classified ads of these magazines would often refer to "free energy" books and plans that could be purchased. I eagerly ordered some of the material, and could not believe what I found. Authentic U.S. patents showing clear directions to generate nearly free sources of energy!

It took me years before I understood why action was not being taken on these ideas. Every country on earth neglects these "secrets". After a while I saw that a select group of people were actively hiding this information.

One thing became increasingly clear: the amount of time and work I put in to do the research was not going be duplicated by the average man on the street. Without a doubt, the typical man or woman has very little chance of discovering what I did.

Why? There's a massive disinformation campaign begin waged almost constantly. Where it originates, I'll leave to you to guess.

In 2006, a retired mechanic in my neighborhood quietly suggested I install a gas-saving gadget on my truck. He told me this gadget would make my truck run on water.

I couldn't believe it, but was willing to give it a try. Much to my surprise, it worked! It simply used ordinary tap water. My mileage per gallon improved as did my tailpipe exhaust quality. I also noticed an increase in power.

My wife likes the fact that it runs quieter too. You should find out about it.

GPS Tracking: Helping Your Bottom Line

By Fabian Toulouse

In June of 1963, the fourth of twenty-four NAVSTAR satellites was hurled into space, completing the Department of Defense's Global Positioning System. Though there had been other kinds of navigational systems before, this was something totally different. The accuracy of GPS is unprecedented. Although invented for military use and run by the U.S. Air Force, civilians could and did tap into this technology, and now GPS devices are great tools to help people find their way and track objects.

Atomic clocks, correct to the billionth of a second, made GPS tracking possible. GPS works through receivers which compute location through geometry and trigonometry, figuring the difference in the arrival time of signals from four or more of the satellites. Location may be pinpointed within a very small area, and with some devices, even less. Currently, GPS devices can be cellular based, wireless, or satellite.

Businesses immediately picked up on the advantages of using GPS devices. With the ability to determine location, time, direction, and speed of any fleet vehicle, trailer, or piece of equipment, GPS is invaluable for monitoring. GPS tracking is a wonderful tool for lowering a company's bottom line. Rental car companies can swiftly locate missing vehicles. The unauthorized use of company cars can be halted. Trucking companies can use reports generated by GPS to keep track of their drivers' productivity.

Drivers who are monitored are unlikely to speed, drive a vehicle out of a predefined area, make extra stops, or amass unnecessary overtime hours. The efficiency of individual drivers can be studied using GPS reports, and incentives can be used to increase productivity. The increased efficiency means more stops can be made in a day and that translates into happier customers!

More and more businesses are seeing the value of GPS tracking. Saving money, time, and fuel, tracking devices lower operating costs measurably. In addition, the ability to locate lost, stolen, or missing property can save high replacement costs. The benefits are so valuable that many insurance companies lower premiums for customers who employ GPS devices.

Covert Vehicle Tracking As A Crime-Fighting System

By hispanic

A civilian wouldn't normally engage in covert vehicle tracking. This was actually reserved for military applications in the past. Today, though, civilians need to protect themselves and their possessions from criminal minds. Mass carjacking and car theft have been going on, and it has become common for criminals to steal a car parked among hundreds of other cars in various parking lots.

Because of these occurrences, covert vehicle tracking has become so essential and useful for the average citizen today. This type of tracking is basically the process of tracking and determining the location of a certain vehicle via a vehicle tracking system. Plus, this tracking is not easily detectable so the driver of the vehicle may not even be aware that he or she is being tracked.

The pinpointing of the location of a stolen vehicle by law enforcers is an obvious real world application of this concept. Vehicle tracking nowadays is uses methods that are so inconspicuous, the culprits won't even know that they are being followed until it's too late. That's a far cry from before when vehicle tracking simply meant dangerous interstate chases. The LoJack Stolen Vehicle Recovery System is a good example this kind of system that tracks stolen vehicles. A small indistinct transmitter is used and installed in a random location inside the vehicle. Even in plain sight, it is unlikely to be detected because the transmitter looks like a regular car component.

Several police jurisdictions are already using the LoJack as their primary form of vehicle tracking system. Upon receiving a report of a stolen vehicle, the transmitter for that particular vehicle is automatically activated, and an accurate location of the transmitter and, hopefully, the vehicle is provided to the police. The LoJack uses radio frequency to send from the transmitter to the remote controller.

Using a Diesel Car is Good For You

By hispanic

These days, people are using diesel engines more and more. This is largely due to the fact that oil and fuel prices are rising steadily and on a regular basis. As a result, people who drive unleaded gas, premium gas, or other non-diesel run cars are looking for alternatives that can help save them money. One of the oldest and most basic alternatives to gasoline is using diesel engines in cars.

As of today, many car manufacturers and car distributors offer the option of diesel powered cars. Diesel powered cars are a lot more common in European countries since their diesel fuel emissions are a lot cleaner. Many prestigious cars such as Mercedez Benzs and BMWs in Europe actually run on diesel fuel. In the United States, though, diesel powered cars are not as common since a big chunk of the diesel supply in the US contains a sulfur and pollutants. Lately, though, the US government has issued stricter rules and regulations that require diesel fuel to meet strict emission standards. If these rules are successful in their implementation in the United States, then there's sure to be a drastic increase in the diesel powered cars available in the United States.

As of the moment, there are many car manufacturers offering diesel cars. Diesel cars have long been common in Europe, where the emissions of their diesel fuel are cleaner. In fact, there are many BMW and Mercedes Benz cars in Europe that run on diesel fuel. This is not a common occurrence in the United States, though, where the majority of the supply of diesel is dirty and contains a lot of sulfur and other pollutants. Recently, though, the government has implemented rules that require diesel fuel in the United States to meet strict emission standards. If standards like this are successfully implemented in the United States, then the number of diesel cars available in the United States will definitely see a sharp increase.

By hispanic

Antique cars have become highly respected over the years. These types of cars have been around for a long time and have developed high selling prices as they become older. People see cars like these as collectors' items, and you may be in awe of the colossal prices that some people will pay for a rare antique car.

More often than not, antique cars do not have a set price. You must be aware of the dates of publication of what you are reading, no matter what source you get the information from. Prices are constantly changing, so you need to be sure that your information is not outdated.

Different Uses Of Commercial Vehicle Tracking

By Hispanic

When talking about 'vehicle tracking,' we immediately think of car chases, carjackers, cops and robbers. What we don't know in fact is that this method is used in other industries such as in business and security industries.

The pioneer in this mode of commercial vehicle tracking system is the shipping industry. To better track down the location of a certain vehicle for commercial or business purposes, the shipping industry utilizes commercial vehicle tracking. For instance, in monitoring the location of large fleets, shipping corporations use this hi-tech tracking device to locate the exact locations of shipment drop-offs.

In monitoring the location of large fleets of vehicles, the shipping industry even way before has implemented a commercial vehicle tracking system. Through the smooth operation of this process, shipping companies were able to record date regarding the exact locations of shipment drop-offs, among others. Companies devote a chunk of their budget since the data is accurate and the benefits of this system is enormous.

Commercial vehicle tracking has now evolved to many other smaller-scale industries. This system is not just excellent in supplying providers and services, but also provides opportunities for companies to be more time and cost-efficient.

Some companies that provide commercial vehicle tracking services to other firms include a variety of other features packaged within their tracking systems. Examples of such services are printable reports (Speed reports, Idling reports, Journey Reports, etc), detailed location mapping, route finding and etc.

Companies involved in commercial vehicle tracking services also offers other services and packages such as printable reports like speed reports, idling reports, and journey reports, detailed location mapping, route finding among others. Field sales and trailer tracking are other commercial uses of vehicle tracking. For instance, in field sales, vehicle tracking is used to retrieve driving directions and planning last-minute itineraries.

In fact, there are resorts available during high-season with GRN which are not available through these other sites.

The parent company has long-term relationships with builders, resort owners, and also time-share organizations. The company has tremendous buying power, and each year weeks are purchased up-front and offered to members through their resorts registry. In addition, special deals are offered throughout the year.

Added benefits include the ability to do all booking online, booking as little as 3 days before the travel date, access to airline booking engines with the same pricing that travel agents use, and wholesale pricing on cruise lines among others. The company has an excellent customer service department, and is always available to help.

The membership package of Global Resort Network has changed drastically since 2007, and has also won exclusive rights to market the parent company. This also decreased the membership pricing to a greatest extent. Al Morales, the president of Global Resorts Network had been associated with various industries like referral marketing, time share and travel industry for more than 20 years. It started on a simple vacation in Mexico where Morales discovered that people were actually vacationing over there for much less than the cost of his time-share. Those people were from a travel club based in southern California. Morales ended up working for this travel company and selling its membership like time-shares, this made Morales Project Director of the company.

It was at this time that Morales was hearing about referral marketing, and he wanted to use the method to sell memberships, however the company was not interested in this. Eventually, he was able to gain the rights to market the product in this way. Also, he had heard of a compensation plan called Perpetual Leverage, which had great potential, but was very difficult to manage and required a lot of explaining to potential home-based business people.

With lot of research work, investments, technology updates and staff training, Morales devised this system called Global Resorts Network where his employees could keep a track and manage the incurred sales for the purposes of compensation. Thus, Perpetual Leverage plan helped Morales to build his own team. This powerful system motivates the members to help each other, be successful and also provides healthy income range.

This end product called Global Resorts Network became a fantastic and awesome product which sells for a $3,000 lifetime membership where each member can make $1,000 for each referral and enjoy the other travel facilities for much lesser than other travel companies. Moreover, members can build their own team and make much income, more than imagined. Thus, it is clear that why GRN has become an hot favorite amongst everyone. It provides each individual a unique financial freedom, where he can not only make money but also have a quality time to spend with family and friends in luxury.

Internet Vehicle Tracking As The Future Of Vehicle Tracking

By hispanic

With more people gaining Internet access, some vehicle tracking system makers came up with another suggestion to make more money. The objective is to expand their services to people by combining the features of the Internet with the advances of a GPS, or Global Positioning System. The GPS can be from a simple cellular phone or a high-tech satellite-based GPS tracking system.

Vehicle tracking finds the location of a certain vehicle, usually an automobile, through a transmitter and Internet connection. All the system needs is a stable online connection, the tracking software and a personal computer. This is a large improvement from the old version, where vehicles need a special remote hardware so it can be controlled manually.

Internet vehicle tracking has a system that pinpoints the exact location of a vehicle equipped with a transmitter device. By simply logging to the Internet, car owners can find out where their car is. Previous vehicle tracking systems need a special remote hardware as a device controller to locate the vehicle. Today, these systems only require a computer, the vehicle tracking software and Internet connection. Those are all the ingredients needed to find a missing car these days.

2.After installation of the transmitter devices, remote controller PCs are then installed with the necessary software required to be able to communicate with the provider's servers.

Once all the hardware is installed, the provider activates the transmitters. The signals that the server intercepts from these devices will be uploaded to the Internet for the client to see. The vehicle can then be located by simply accessing the remote computer. For automobile dealers, the growing popularity of vehicle tracking firms may be a positive or negative. On one hand, the reduced fear of car thefts could attract more people to buy cars. On the other hand, owners won't need to replace their automobiles anymore because of the added security feature.
