Jeep and Its Remarkable History

It was the time of World War II that Jeep started. It is right to say that there is no other motor transportation has ever stirred the kind of respect and affection given the World War II Jeep.

The jeeps demonstrated success for the American Army during the World War II battle. But before the Japanese attack on the Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941 the jeeps have already proven their worth in battle all over the globe.

The Jeep has proven that it has a lot of benefits. It's small and compact characteristic made it easy to transport to war areas by plane or glider, dropped by parachute or floated across river.

It was the time that the Jeep became very popular to the rich and famous as it was to the ordinary Joe.

There are many popular icons that have utilized the Jeep in the early times.

General Claire Chennault as the chauffeur of Madame Chiang Kai-shek toured Cairo riding a Jeep.

Queen Elizabeth utilized a jeep in her wartime tour to Northern Ireland. President Franklin D. Roosevelt also used as he surveyed the troops in Morocco.

During General George S. Patton's trip to Fatale, Morocco chose a jeep as a substitute of a staff car when he received the surrender of the French resident general there. Prime Minister Winston Churchill sat in a jeep as he closely observed the historic landings at Normandy.

As a matter of fact, Hollywood came into the limelight and Jeeps have been used in Hollywood movies like Four Jills in a Jeep.

For those people came in contact with it have somehow make this remarkable vehicle earned trust, demanded respect, and bounced its way into the hearts and souls of all who have used it.

Due to the Jeeps versatility, everyone wanted to own their own jeeps, too. - 2368
