Choosing A Reliable Car Insurance Company

By Steven A. Smaldery

It is difficult to choose a car insurance company because of the large amount of them available. The company needs to be available to file claims and take care of other needs as they arise. The needs that customers have are met by reliable car insurance companies. There are things to consider when making the decision of a car insurance company. You will have to keep a number of things in mind to make the final decision.

How good is the customer service provided?

You want to take a look at the customer service provided by the company before deciding to use their services. A car insurance company that does offer an adequate amount of customer service is the last thing you need. If you have friends and family that have experience using a company ask them about the customer service provided. To see if many complaints have been filed against the company you can check with the Better Business Bureau to learn about the customer service. Finding out if the company is reliable and offers top of the line customer service is something this will help with.

What about financial stability?

If you are looking for a company to provide auto insurance that is going to be reliable it is vital to look at the financial stability that the company has. The Standard & Poor's rating is a place where this information can be easily found; it will help to get a look at the financial situation of the company that is being considered. Filing a claim and discovering there are not adequate funds available to pay it by the company is not a situation that you want to find yourself in. Don't go with a company that has a Standard & Poor's rating lower than a BBB and you should be sure that they are sound financially.

Consider Their Prices

Of course price is also going to be something to look at as well. Wondering how the price lets you know whether a company will be reliable? Well, companies that are going to offer great service and be reliable for you are going to offer you prices that are competitive. If a company has prices that are sky high and much higher than most of the competition, you have to wonder why their prices are so high. So, price can be something important to consider as well.

When searching for a car insurance company that is going to be reliable these are three of the most vital things to take into consideration. You will be sure to find an incredible company that will meet all of your needs for car insurance when you look for adequate customer service, financial security and prices that are competitive.

Mobile Phones That Are Integrated With GPS

By Stewart M. Russell

GPS, technically known as Global Positioning System, is the new technology which allows individuals to track everything. Mobile phones with GPS technology are very useful when it comes to emergencies. Most mobile phones have GPS as a special feature. Brands and models with GPS integration include Nokia 6110 Navigator, Nokia N95 (8GB version), Blackberry 8800, Blackberry Curve 8310, HTC Touch Cruise and HTC TyTN II.

Generally, phones that have this feature are more expensive and are top of the line models. But as the price of the technology begins to drop, the phones will become better and cheaper as well. Mobile phone makers are waiting to integrate this technology in all of their products.

Currently, navigation is the main use of GPS, but that's not what's interesting the investors. While people who refuse to use paper-based maps rely on GPS for accurately pinpointing locations, the ultimate use of GPS technology will be using it to deliver location-specific services. The software used with the GPS satellite links will be able to show a particular person's exact location, allowing emergency services, businesses and other individuals to track down the person, whenever needed.

While the ultimate GPS usage may seem to be a privacy violation, the idea is to safeguard the public and enhance business services through the technology. Government regulations in each country specifies the limitations of GPS utilisation and they restrict anyone from using the technology to gather intelligence on anyone without their explicit permission.

High-rise buildings and developmental areas are still a hindrance to GPS tracking systems and the improved technology aims to remove such barriers too. The existing GPS devices are able to locate landmarks, major roads and popular places, according to the user's current locale. Mobile phones with GPS-integration are capable of gathering and presenting relevant information according to the present location.

Network integration is another future possibility with mobile phone GPS technology. Social networking sites and mobile phone networks will be able to exchange real-time information via GPS-integrated mobile phones.

MySpace and Facebook have already begun using this technology with a version for mobile phone users who wish to use the site. Content that is generated by users will now be able to be uploaded easily and effectively by using information on the users location.

GPS is a great and modern way to keep track of elderly relatives, children, important shipping activity etc, but the technology has the potential to become an annoyance to everyday life. This is mainly due to one factor - unethical marketing practices, such as targeted location-specific advertisements, can be used on GPS mobile phone users.

The Future of Water Based Fuel is Almost Here

By Chinese Checker

The use of water as a way to fuel a car has long been promoted by the science fiction community. Such authors as H. G. Wells, Isaac Asimov and Piers Anthony have documented such ideas. The world of technology that has never before been thought of has always been brought by these inventive minds.

Having water as a source of energy has become a dream for running a vehicle since the inception of water used as energy in power plants. Inventions to use water as a fuel for cars have been tried by many people. Every one of them has failed, until recently.

In Japan, inventors believe they have found the key to making water a valuable source for car fuel. It has not yet been patented but it is on its way. Once the patent has been established, other companies will be able to use it.

Once this patent is publicized, the car companies will be able to make vehicles that are cheaper and cleaner. The pollution created by emissions of gas has damaged the ozone layer. With the ozone layer being damaged many believe that a second ice age is not too far behind.

Once the oil used to create petrol has become obsolete and the water-fuelled cars are created, our air will be cleaner. With the clean air, the cases of cancer will lessen. This step will be good for the environment and the people of the planet.

Japan has always been a step ahead of other technologically based countries. The cell phone, computers and video games have been invented and reinvented by the technology industry of Japan. The water based fuel movement is just another notch on the Japanese technology belt.

A dream of inventors has always been water-fuelled vehicles. Creating an engine that uses only water as a fuel has been tried by many men. Both Stanley Meyers and Henry Garrett have come short of the real thing, though they are known for having invented ways to use water as a fuel.

Stanley Meyers had created a machine that seemed to be run simply by water energy. However, he would not give full details about how the machine worked. He claimed that his engine produced energy by using water alone without any other energy source.

A machine that produced hydrogen by a mysteriously efficient form of electrolysis was what he claimed. It was discovered, however, that his machine was merely a perpetual motion machine. The mechanics of his engine defied the second law of thermodynamics.

Henry Garrett, however, had made a water fuelled carburetor. It was not necessarily a new invention just a reinvention of a carburetor. Yet, it did help to advance the research of water-based fuel.

Once the Japanese receive the patent on their new water-fuelled vehicle, the futuristic attitude will quickly become a modern concept. The water-fuelled vehicle will create a cleaner world. People will enjoy a cleaner and cheaper vehicle.

Pass Your Road Test And Get Your License On The First Try

By Michelle Riley

Though you may already have passed the written test and racked up a few hours of behind-the-wheel experience, the last hurdle still remains: your road exam. It's said that half of all drivers taking the test for the first time fail - but why leave it to chance? Keep reading for the time-tested advice and tricks that will bolster your odds of leaving the DMV with a shiny new drivers license and a big smile on test day.

These are the ingredients for success:

- Practice

- Making sure you know your state's driving laws

- Being confident

Driving experience is essential; that's how you'll get the assurance and know-how that comes only with time. Make sure you feel comfortable just sitting behind the wheel. Once you have got a pretty good idea of how to park, turn, and deal with intersections, you're on the right track.

In the days leading up to your test, check the signals and lights of the car you plan to drive to ensure everything is in proper working order - so they'll let you even take the examination. If it's not the same vehicle you did most of your practice in, take it out for a few spins until you're absolutely comfortable driving it, since each car maneuvers a little differently.

If you have picked up any "special" habits over the course of your driving experience, lose them! Beware of lazy or sharp turns, one-handed driving, not stopping completely for stop signs/red lights, etc. Of course safety comes first on the road, but especially so on exam day. Your examiner will be watching you, so drive carefully and keep these guidelines in mind:

- Stay a little under the speed limit (to keep an ear out for the instructor)

- Brake and accelerate gently

- Keep a look out for and obey ALL signs

- Signal every lane change and turn

- Use your mirrors frequently (much more than normal, even if you feel silly)

- Always turn to check your blind spot when changing lanes (important!)

- Follow cars at a safe distance

- No cell phone calls or texts when driving!

These are the main things that your examiner will be watching for, so take your road test with the objective of showing him/her what a safe, vigilant driver you are. Even if you make a small mistake or two - which you probably will, and most everyone does - don't let it faze you.

Come test day, if you're feeling intimidated by your examiner, this trick might help: pretend he or she is a (strict, overly demanding.. middle-aged? balding?) pal who's just giving you directions to a party. Anything that works! And in case you're still anxious or overwhelmed on the big day: pause, breathe deep, and trust yourself and all the effort you've put into practicing. You can pass! Good luck - now go earn your freedom!

Increase Mileage Tips - Spark Plugs

By Bryan Alan

Price levels for oil are gliding up to unprecedented highs. This is caused fuel to increase to prices never seen before. The average level of fuel per gallon is in the $4 range now, and most folks are looking for alternatives to increase mileage. Thankfully, there are several ways to increase mileage without breaking the bank.

Understanding how your engine operates is the first key to increase mileage. The basic explanation is that very small amounts of gasoline and air are introduced through the intake valve into the piston chamber. Here, the piston moves up and down to compress this mixture into a more powerful, condensed state. Then, your spark plug kicks in with a spark of electricity that ignites that mixture of gasoline and air.

This ignition/explosion of the mixture is the power that is used to transfer motion to through the engine into the components of your vehicle to propel the vehicle forward. This process is repeated thousands of times per minute (think RPM's). Also, each piston chamber in your car produces this same result over and over - for example, a V-6 engine means there are 6 chambers doing this, and 6 spark plugs to support.

Now, there are several ways to enhance this process, making it more efficient. A great place to start is with your spark plugs. The electricity emitted by spark plugs can be influenced by the quality of the plug itself. A more efficient, higher quality plug will increase the efficiency of this ignition. For example, the seals of the plug may leak additional air, causing some of the electricity power to be lost and as a result, a less efficient explosion occurs. This leads to needing more revolutions to achieve the same power output, and thus uses more gasoline.

Using a high performance spark plug will make your engine operate better. In general, you can expect a 3% increase in mileage by using a high quality spark plug. The rate of return is very quick, as spark plugs cost about the same as one gallon of fuel at today's prices.

Trip Travel Insurance is Worth the Cost

By Steven Milstone

Investing in trip travel insurance is well worth it. It will give you immediate coverage in the event of a medical emergency, loss of travel funds, or other unfortunate and unexpected travel surprises. It will provide for you or anyone else you list on the policy.

It is important to read the fine print on any policy for any exclusions or special restrictions. Check your regular medical coverage to see if it includes or excludes coverage while out of the country. You do not want to pay for something you may not need. If booking through a travel agency they may offer trip travel insurance for just such emergencies.

If you are purchasing a single trip policy make sure you are covered for enough time. Add a few days to the start of the trip for coverage in case of early cancellation and a few days after you are due to return in case you have to stay a few extra days.

Travel insurance is also available on an annual basis. This is great if you have to travel often. Check the premium costs for a single trip verses an annual policy that will cover any number of trips for the whole year. Again, read the exclusions, you may think you are getting a deal but you may not be getting great coverage.

Both types of trip travel insurance policy will generally cover sickness or injuries that happen while you are on a trip, along with other types of emergencies (such as the aforementioned evacuations, even to the point of transport home if required). Common travel woes like lost baggage, delays and cancellations are standard in trip travel insurance policies also.

Looking forward to a dream vacation in a beautiful location can turn into a nightmare if it needed to be canceled due to an illness or other unexpected situation. You could lose thousands of dollars in prepaid deposits.

An annual policy would give the assurance that you would not lose any of your deposits or other prepaid expenses on any trip you plan or take during the year.

Do some research on the web to find adequate insurance for trips. Make sure it covers not only medical emergencies but financial loss and trip cancellation.

Scams to Look For When Purchasing a New Car

By Roberto beiro

Purchasing a new automobile can be a stressful pass time, especially with the added pressure of pushy car salesmen. It is common knowledge that you can negotiate down the price of any vehicle at a dealership, but there are many scams out there that are not so well known and are designed to separate you from your hard earned money. I have listed 6 of these scam below for you to be aware of next time you go and buy a new car.

1. This scam deals with etching the vehicle's VIN# on the window. There are dealerships that will try to charge for this added feature, saying it is a requirement by a lender. It's not! No lender will require you to pay for any extra options that you don't need. The truth is they only care about is whether or not you pay your instalments on time.

2. "Subject to loan approval" is a common phrase on car loans. Some dodgy car dealers will try to scam you by mentioning this phrase, with a view to squeezing more money out of you. They can charge finance fees of $1000 up and and added $50 to you payments if you have a bad credit score. Those with good credit needn't worry so much. The best thing to do to avoid this scam is to get a loan from a bank instead.

3. One of the most common scams is the credit score scam. The car dealership will try to give you a higher finance rate by informing you that your credit score is lower than it actually is. Dealerships will try this scam regardless of you credit score. The best way to deal with this greediness is to bring a copy of your credit report with you when you go looking to buy a new car. That way there is no dispute.

4. The warranty scam is one that involves the dealer selling you a $2000, 3 year warranty, saying that you need oit to qualify for financing. NOT TRUE. A car warranty is optional and hs no influence of getting a loan.

5. The dealer prep scam is another good one. It involves an adiitional $500 fee for doing basically nothing. Ther is no preparation as the car usually arrives at dealership ready to be purchased and driven straight of the lot. Avoid paying this or visit a dealership that does not charge this fee.

6. The 'dealer mark -up fee' is another scam. This fee does nothing but boost the dealers profit margin. Greed is the purpose of this fee, plain and simple.

As common as these scams are, there are also quite a few reputable dealerships out there. Dealerships that will give you a good service and sell you a car at a fair price. You just have to look carefully for them.

Changing the Business Model - Budget Rent A Car

By Peter Wilson

Budget Rent A Car is a name widely known in the rental industry. It has been around since the early days of car rental and one of the first to target travelers on a budget (hence the name). The company has had a bumpy ride and seen many ups and downs but the name and company values have remained. Here is an overview of how this company has survived.

Budget Rent A Car was the brainchild of Morris Mirkin who established the business in Los Angeles in 1958. He started the business with just $10,000 and only his wife and himself as employees. He only had a fleet of 10 cars but with a 4 dollars a day and 4 cents per mile rate, his rentals were popular for their value.

Budget was doing good business but Mirkin wanted rapid expansion and knew that to be successful he needed to have a number of locations. Funding was provided a year later by his relative, Jules Lederer. This enabled the company to create a leasing company and increase its fleet. Lederer and Mirkin established Budget Rent A Car Corporation in 1960 in Chicago, Illinois. The company started to rapidly expand both nationally and internationally.

The 60s and 70s were a very successful time for Budget. Like many companies in the industry, they moved their location to the airport so it was more convenient for travelers. They maintained their low rates to attract the budget-minded customers and they gained about 20 percent of the leisure market every year. They also increased their market reach by attracting smaller businesses and medium size corporations.

The 80s and 90s were a rough time for Budget Rent A Car. The company changed hands a few time and profit rose and fell. A tax credit law was repealed in 1986 allowing rental car companies to exempt taxes on new car purchases. A management restructuring took place and many car rental companies felt the financial blow. Despite this upset, the company was taken public in 1987 and had an initial offering of 3.2 million shares.

Changes continued in the late 80s and 90s. Budget was bought out for 3.3 million by various corporations and taken private again in 1987. In 1997 it was bought by Team Rental Group and changed its name to Budget Group, Inc. and began trading on the New York Stock Exchange. Things seemed to be looking up with expansion worldwide but by 2002 sales of public stock dropped and the company was de-listed. Budget was forced to sell most of its assets.

Today Budget maintains its name and corporate identity but is now a subsidiary of Avis Budget Group. Budget Rent A Car has almost 2000 car rental locations from Atlanta, GA to the Alicante airport and is again listed on the NYSE.

Water Powered Car - The Truth behind Water for Fuel

I know you've noticed it the oil price hike is breaking every car and vehicle owner's back and makes it almost impossible to save on fuel.

BUT it's not easy either to take a bus or a taxi to get from one place to another in time. Not to mention it's having that shiny car gives you a special place within the society.

Its just logical that several alternative fuel vehicles and other methods to save on fuel are devised to reduce the impact of constant oil price hike. BUT the bad news is most of these methods are NOT for everybody and none have been proven to be as effective as they claim.

Not even the renowned gasoline is a good substitute for fuel. Use it and you're sure to pollute the natural world even more.

Methanol, propane, ethanol - these are just some of the safer options to replace gasoline BUT the fact remains that none of these substitutes prove to 100% resolve the annoying issues behind commonly used fuel.

Keep your cool! Water-for-fuel - by far the best of all the fuel alternatives around will make sure that you save a lot from fuel costs PLUS eliminate the threats of pollutants and menacing emissions.

What could be better than dramatically lowering your fuel expenses and keeping the environment safe while doing so?

I could go all day telling what advantages of water-for-fuel are. BUT to whet your appetite, here are seven of the outstanding benefits of water-for-fuel you won't have should you use other alternative fuels:

Fuel Saver Kit Fact

1. Save more than $900/year as your gas mileage increases up to 35% whether you're driving at the city, rocky roads, and anywhere else.

2. Experience smoother, noise-free, and more placid driving with water for fuel.

3. See your engine's performance and power greatly enhanced.

4. Did I mention water is 100% safe and effective as fuel alternative? Drop your worries about filling the environment with harmful smoke.

5. Keep your engine's temperature at an all-time low, which also means your car doesn't contribute unnecessary heat to the environment.

6. Ward off the filth and carbon from your engine and make sure they don't come back.

7. Watch as your piston, rings, valves, etc. work way better and live a longer life.

We're all familiar with water being used to safely produce electricity for a long time and it can do the same with your car's engine.

And you don't have to store gallons of water to make it work. With a very small amount of water along with electrolysis from your battery, your car will produce Brown's gas or HHO which is 3 times more effective than oil and ordinary gas.

And did I mention the use of car for fuel is completely harmless and even produces much needed oxygen?

Land the Big One with the Right Surf Fishing Equipment

By Craig Petersen

Successful surf fishing requires the right combination of skill, weather conditions and surf fishing equipment. Fishermen of all ages can enjoy learning to surf fish, and many locations offer lessons on surf fishing that cover topics such as surf fishing equipment, the fish to be caught, the water conditions and the skill's basics.

One of the primary items to cover during surf fishing lessons is the type of equipment that will work best for you. There are a few optimal pieces of surf fishing equipment, since everyone prefers different styles and equipment.

Fishing rods work best in the surf if they are between 10 and 15 feet long, and the choice of rod length depends on what one is most comfortable with.

A variety of tackle such as weights, leaders, hooks and swivels is good to carry for different types of feeders. Some surf fishermen will use triple drop leaders or spider leaders. Others enjoy using the pyramid leader. The use of tackle is a personal preference and it is based on the type of fish that you are hoping to land.

If you are surf fishing in a particular area, many times it is best to catch your bait from that area. For that reason, it is recommended to carry along a couple of smaller rods or nets among your surf fishing equipment in order to reel in the best bait. This is what the fish in the area are used to and what they generally will respond best to.

At any rate, landing nets are important to have when surf fishing and it is best to have someone along with you to help you bring the fish in with the help of a net. Which net to use will depend on the type of fish that are in the area. Of course, if your prey are heavier fish, you will certainly want to have a heavier duty net handy.

The surf fishing equipment you employ will depend on the type of water that you are fishing. Surf fishing can be enjoyed in either fresh water or salt water. Many people enjoy surf fishing in lakes, rivers and other small bodies of water.

Surf fishing can also be great fun in the ocean and numerous fishermen surf fish for trophies in salt water. Fishing in the surf is a wonderful pastime for any age group in the family, as there are different sizes of prey to be found there. While wading through the surf, almost everyone will enjoy the sun sparkling on the water while waiting for the creatures moving beneath it.

The One Way Budget Car Rental

By Sandy Maseko

One of the best ways to guarantee an enjoyable vacation is to rent a car from a budget car rental as it could be cheaper and will definitely be more convenient for you and your friends. Sometimes though, the companies that rent budget cars, supply cars that are at the bottom end of the spectrum. Always be prepared, that is my motto, you do not have to drive a car that should have been scrapped just because you want to save a few dollars on the rental. So, just to help, I have made a written down a few pointers to help.

If the type of car you want to drive is of no real concern to you, use a car rental web site that allows you to dictate your own price level. Do not dismiss this type of sites because they want your business and sometimes offer other incentives like unlimited mileage for example. Package deals like fly-drive and fly-drive and stay often discount the car rental element of the package just try avoid the airline companies when you book. If you do not need to organize your car rental with the airline, try a company that is outside the airport you are landing at and you will see they are much more competitive.

Bargains abound on the internet and that also means budget car rental as well. You will often find that there are discounts and extras available but only from the company's web site. Shopping around on the internet can be fun and save you money as there is almost always a special car rental offer available with one budget car rental company or another. Plus, and this is the good bit; all this can be done from your home.

Another thing to try is whether your credit card company has negotiated special discounts with the car rental company you are going to use. Many car rental companies have arranged special deals with large organizations to ensure they have more business, perhaps you are a member of one of these.

Before you drive the rental car away, carry out a thorough check for damage as often these budget rental cars take a few knocks so if there is make sure the renter is aware of them. For you won peace of mind and financial well-being, check out all the vehicles controls and make sure everything that is fitted works so you won't have to pay for something that was faulty when you drove it away.

Before you decide to use the budget rental car company's insurance, take a look at your own policy as you will probably find that it covers rental vehicles as well. Why pay for insurance for budget car rental when your own auto insurance policy will cover it even if it isn't a great deal. Whatever the case, you must still have insurance cover when you rent a car so don't try and skip it to save money.

Another money saving tip is to pick up your car early in the morning, make it so that the firm is just opening, this is because at this time most of the budget car rentals haven't been returned yet, and you may get an upgrade for a lower price.

Hybrid Cars

By Gray Rollins

These days it's cool to be green. And while the environment is always a concern, high gas prices probably have more to do with America's new found green movement than anything. No longer do we want those gas guzzlers - we want the fuel sipping hybrid cars to be the ones lining our driveways.

While people were skeptical of hybrids at first, they've certainly come around. Major hybrid manufacturers like Toyota can't make enough to keep up with demand and neither can anyone else.

A hybrid car has a small engine that is fuel efficient, which is combined with an electric motor that aids the engine when additional power is needed during acceleration. The electric motor gets its power from battery banks which continuously charge while you are driving.

One cool feature that you find on a lot of hybrids is that when you stop at a stoplight for more than a few seconds, the engine shuts off. Other hybrids will turn off unneeded cylinders when driving on the highway to save fuel.

Hybrids also use a more advanced aerodynamic lightweight body, and combine it with low roll resistant tires that are stiffer and narrower to help reduce drag.

The sales figures for hybrid vehicles have shown increased demand every year for the vehicles. Right now the demand for fuel efficient hybrids is far eclipsing the actual supply. Just try to buy yourself a Prius at your local dealership and notice how they're not going to budge on the price. You'll pay full sticker because if you don't, someone else will.

There are several hybrids currently available in North America. They include the Honda Civic, Honda Accord, Honda Insight, Toyota Prius, and the Mercury Mariner. There are also Hybrid SUVs available - the Ford Escape, the Lexas 400H and the Toyota Highlander. Pretty much every manufacturer has at least one entry in this market.

Right now the top hybrid on the planet would be the Toyota Prius. There are currently over 1,000,000 Prius' on the road right now.

Manufacturers are certainly scrambling to offer more hybrids to lineups and if you follow cars you know that 2010 is going to be a good year to be green.

While nobody can say for sure what will be powering our vehicles in 50 years, we can say with certainty that the hybrid is a definite part of our immediate future, and likely will remain a major player for quite some time.

Should You Buy Used Jet Skis?

By Kathi Janine

Just like cars, when you consider buying used jet skis there are some things to think about. There are definite pros and cons. With jet skis, there aren't too many disadvantages.

This article will mainly tell you why you should buy a used one. If you want to buy a new jet ski, more power to you. However, you may want to consider some of the information that I have for you here.

The best benefit is the price. You can get used jet skis for a heck of a lot less money than brand new ones. You pay a premium for new.

The value is not the same for all jet skis. You need to consider how old it is, the condition it is in and of course the model. Usually the price will be lower if it is in worn condition and several years old.

Most sellers you will come across are people who bought a jet ski and then stuck it in their garage. So the price will end up being really great and most likely it was hardly even used.

A lot of private owners choose to sell their jet skis because they need more storage space, or they simply don't use it often enough to keep it around.

If you think about it, a big reason why the seller wants to sell, is the reason why a buyer wants to buy. Jet skis aren't normally used all year round.

I mean, why have a brand new jet ski when you can only use it in the summer? It is really only worth buying a new one if you lived right by the water and in a very warm climate where you will get to use it most of the year.

Finding used jet skis for sale is actually quite easy. There are websites and online auctions where you can pick one up. I would also suggest looking in your local newspaper and classified ads to see if there is anyone local who wants to get rid of theirs.

If you find a jet ski that is in great condition you may want to consider making a little bit of extra money by renting it out.

Car Salesman's Guide To Sales

By Mak

It used to be that car sales was a quick, surefire way to achieve the American dream. Go back 20 or 30 years and youll find that selling cars was a lot different. Kids who dropped out of high school, as long as they had some people skills, could get a start in car sales and be making over $100,000 a year in no time. A popular joke on the subject went like this: A parrot enters a bar and lands on the shoulder of a rich-looking man.

The parrot inquires, What is your IQ? 170, the guy says. The parrot says, You must be a successful lawyer?how many trials have you won? He keeps flying and spots a very wealthy-looking lady with designer clothes and jewelry. He asks her, What is your IQ? 180. She replies.

The parrot whistles and says, You must be one heck of a surgeon. How many operations have you performed? The parrot flies off and spots a man dressed in a tailored Italian suit getting out of a limo with a glamorous woman at his side and asks him, What is your IQ? Smiling, the man answers, 80. The parrot nods knowingly and asks, So how many cars have you sold? But today its not quite that way anymore. Auto salespeople generally make less than $50,000 a year.

Even honest dealers are hurting the unscrupulous salespeople by allowing customers to purchase vehicles and do everything at once from their computer and over the phone. Dealers like Used Cars in Oklahoma are making it harder for high-grossing salespeople to earn their living. The Car Salespersonas Greatest Asset It is ironic, but in this age of information where consumers have access to just about everything that the car salesperson knows, there is still one major flaw that can be exploited. There is TOO much information out there! Everything has a spin. A salesperson who really wants to make money will find those websites that help them overcome the intelligent Internet shopperas objections.

Here are some of the things that you can do: 1) If they have a trade, go to all of the trade evaluation sites and find the one that has the lowest amount. 2) If they think youare priced too high, repeat tip one, but look for the highest value instead of the lowest for the car youare selling. 3) Send emails to everyone all the time. People love receiving emails from car salesmen. After you send the emails, call them and tell them you sent an email. They love this as well.

4) If they search the cars history and dig up negative information, be ready with articles detailing the inaccuracies of vehicle history reports. 5) If the vehicle history report comes up clean but the customer doesnt believe it, assure him that Carfax guarantees accuracy. 6) If they complain that the cars Internet price is lower than the price you quoted them, blame it on hackers on the system. If they persist then its best to avoid the topic or steer them toward another car. 7) Ask someone to make a website with negative rumors about the competition, and refer customers to that site if they are thinking of visiting or already have visited the competing dealer.

8) Using a fictitious name, post bad things about your competitors to blogs and chatrooms online. If you claim that Dealer A sells lemon cars and Dealer B sells illegal drugs, people will accept it as fact. Most people believe whatever they see on the Internet. 9) Visit a free vehicle classified site and register for an account, then list fictional cars comparable to yours for a much higher price. Print out the ad to show to customers. 10) If they have any other objection having to do with the Internet that isnt covered here, telling them that a virus is responsible for any misinformation should quiet their objections.

So dishonest and shady salespeople, lift your chin up. If we work together we can overcome the power of the Internet and continue wringing profits out of misinformed consumers like we did in the old days. If youre an honest salesperson or a consumer, forget you ever read this entire article. Its only written for fun.

Camping Activities

By Gray Rollins

Camping is a fun and budget friendly activity for most families. I've seen some people bring along every creature comfort form home they can think of, but they're missing the spirit of things a bit. Camping itself can be all the entertainment you'll need.

The fun starts as soon as you reach your destination. You get to pick a place to set up your tent. You can start exploring your campground a bit. Then you get to start a fire, start making hot dogs and roasting marshmallows, and have a blast hanging out talking and laughing.

And the campground is only the beginning. State and national parks have a vast array of activities in store for you. Let's take hiking for example. I can't say I've ever camped at a park without hiking trails. And while hiking may sound boring if you've never done it, all I can say is you've got to give it a try. It gets in your blood.

Then consider that most popular camping destinations also have at least one lake in the park. Lakes offer a a ton of activities and can easily provide a full days worth of entertainment via swimming or fishing or boating..

You don't have to own a boat to enjoy getting out on the water and enjoying seeing lots of natural spots along the lake shore. A boat can usually be rented for reasonable rates and with a small amount of knowledge or training in how to use an outboard motor, you can be cruising along like an old pro in no time. And boating is a great sport to combine with fishing. The fun thing about fishing is even if you never get a bite, everybody has fun getting out there and trying. And when your young son or daughter catches their first fish on your camping trip, that squeal of delight will be one of those memories that you will be thinking about during your retirement years.

Most state or national parks are well staffed with park rangers who jobs are to protect the park as well as its visitors and to assure that your visit is safe and fun. A visit to the Visitor's Information Center can be a real education as they are almost always well decorated with maps, pictures and visuals of local wild life and videos of the history of the park. You can turn that visit into a recreational outing that will rival going to a Harry Potter movie for fun and excitement and it is educational as well.

Make sure you don't leave the visitor's center without talking to the park rangers. Find out if they are doing any tours or nature walks soon and then find out how you can go along. It'll not only be fun for your kids but you'll probably find yourself having a good time as well.

There really isn't a whole lot that is more fun than just going out in nature and hiking and camping. You'll probably be amazed at how economical your camping activities are - most of them will be free. And the memories from those trips will last a lifetime.

Gas costs are less with a cycle too many times compared to a car. There are some persons that like to use the cycles to get around town too on their daily treks to work. Many of them say it makes it more fun getting to work when riding a cycle to work.

One has to consider their needs in a bike before choosing one of the many models of motorcycles available on the market today. You have the models of the off-road ones to choose if you like riding on dirt. If you decide that motocross is your things than you have the motocross cycles specially designed for the sport. Cruiser, touring and sport are some other models available to you. You have to examine what the use of them is going to be and decide which type is best suited to you.

You will have to be diligent in taking care of your cycle for it to perform correctly for you. There are parts like the battery that need to be checked often and even special care if the bike is not going to be used for awhile. Need to pay proper attention to the oil too. Tires and wheels need to be checked for wear and tear regularly. There are many more parts that need care too so educate yourself. Your choice of cycles can last you for years with the proper care.

Did you know that the original style of the motorcycles we know today was actually steam powered? It was invented way back in 1867. Then in 1885 someone got the brilliant idea of adding a gas engine to a wooden bike for the first gas powered one. I think the cycles have come far from those early inventions.

We have tried to cover many aspects of owning motorcycles. Maybe with the information we have provided you can make the right choices on which style to buy for your needs. Be smart and be safe with your riding habits. Nothing is worth getting hurt over no matter how much you enjoy the sport.

What Can Make The Lowest Auto Insurance Quote A Bad Deal?

By Chimpuriche Chihunrumnanya

It's a great thing to find an auto insurance quote that is several hundreds of dollars lower than industry standards for your profile. However, like everything out there, you need to make sure of a few things before you buy such an affordable policy. Indeed, you need to make sure of a lot of things even if the quote is expensive...

1. What's the company's rating? Unless you do NOT ever intend to make a claim even if you need it, you'll need an insurer that will treat your claims promptly. Some companies that offer rates that are too low sometimes have unimaginable hurdles you must cross before you can get your compensation.

Too many complaints against an insurer is a bad sign. Although all insurers have some complaints against them; run, if the ratio of complaints is too high -- Moreso if many of them are unresolved. Also check at how quickly each case was resolved.

And don't forget to verify that you're NOT buying from a fly-by-night insurance company. Verify with your state's department of insurance to ensure they are licensed to sell auto insurance in your state.

2. A very low quote could mean that a policy has very high deductibles. Although this is fine if you have a very old car, you may need to reconsider your position if yours is a new car. Remember the law requires that you contribute this amount if you file a claim.

3. If your driving record is NOT so great, make sure that their forgiveness period is good for you (Insurers have a given number of years after which they clear your records of any accidents or moving violations).

If, after checking for these things, you are satisfied then you can go ahead with the offer. There are many other reasons (good reasons) why an insurer's rate could be far lower than industry average.

Also, do your best to read through your policy details and have all your questions answered before you buy.

Do you want the cheapest rates that won't compromise you? Get and compare quotes from five or more reputable quotes sites now.

Convert Your Car In An Afternoon To A Hydrogen Generator Car

By Susan Olsen

Do you hear at least once a week in the news about the rising cost of oil? Is the cost of filling up your car every week taking it's toll on your weekly budget? Well no more. Today, as in almost immediately, you can be running your own car on water ie a hydrogen generator car.

Hydrogen generator cars are usually something that people tend to think of as in the future. Well welcome to the future - it's here and knocking on your door. This technology is certainly not new, we have all heard the stories about the original inventors and their fate etc (another story another time).

A lot of business that rely on the rising cost of oil for their profits have fought this technology, but with the day and age in which we live today, with the internet at our fingertips, how could technology which will turn your regular car into a hydrogen generator car stay buried any longer.

It may surprise you that the steps required to make your own car (yes even trucks and diesel vehicles) a hydrogen generator car are extremely simple. It's just a simple kit and a very simple installation. No fuss - just a single day (or weekend at most) job.

Who would have thought that just $100 - $200 will get the job done, meaning within a week or two of saving money at the gas station each week, you will have made back that money and then some. The advantages that go with this system besides the obvious saving are endless, however here are some of the more important ones:

* will boost the performance of your car

* no harmful chemicals are emitted from this system

* prevent further carbon build up

* reduces engine temperature

* engine runs smoother

* engine will have a longer life expectancy

* system can be easily undone (but why would you want to?)

With a dash of water and a pinch of baking soda your hydrogen generator car will be up and running within a few hours. Hydrogen-on-demand or Brown's gas is what drives this system. This means hydrogen does not need to be stored as this can be dangerous. This system is very safe.

A simple system with a simple installation at a very low cost - sounds good doesn't it? Don't be ripped off any more by those ever increasing fuel costs, And be proud that you are more than doing your bit for the environment.

The alternative to converting your car to a hydrogen generator car is to leave it the way it is - but ask yourself - how much will it cost you to fill up your car this time next year? Will you be able to afford it? Should you be made to make the oil companies rich? How much are you harming our environment?

The other side of the coin is the hybrid car. Costly to purchase initially, high maintenance with costly batteries, emissions not greatly reduces when driven on highways, engine only has standard power, and would take years and years to gain back from weekly savings enough to cover the cost of buying it originally.

And now for the icing on the cake - imagine getting paid because you decided you wanted to save money with a hydrogen generator car - it's true. You can even pay the mechanic to do the job if you prefer, but you still get paid.- is that cool or what?

A great idea designed to stop you from getting taken for a ride. But maybe you should check it out and see for yourself how easily you could accomplish this.

An Engine Powered By Water, is That Possible?

By Joseph Then

It's unbelievable how the price of oil can go rising sky high. I wonder hoe much it would be for one to maintain a car. I am considering getting a car too but with the unreasonable price of oil nowadays I think I shouldn't. I am sure you have heard or substituting fuel with water. That may sound ridiculous but trust me, it is possible. And the best part of it all is that you do not need to wait another decade or so for it to happen. You can achieve it as soon as you finish reading this article.

An Alternative Fuel Car System

Many people think in order to run a car on water you must either be a knowledgeable mechanic or know someone else who works on vehicles. This couldn't be further from the truth and to make it easier on you there are simple instructions available where this can take minutes to put together.

The water for fuel system works on its own as soon as you put it together and after you add water to your electrolyzer hydrogen generator. Thus, it begins to work as a Hybrid Hydrogen Oxygen (HHO) once you start the engine. It is able to work because gas is able to be taken out of the water and used as an alternative fuel. Therefore, as you can see, this creates a domino effect within your engine thus, giving several benefits other than just saving gas.

Do I Need To Top Up Gas For My Car?

Don't get me wrong. Of course you will still need to fill up your tank. But the catch is that the amount of gas used for driving will be significantly lesser. Almost most vehicles are able to run using the hydrogen system. Even huge vehicles like truck are able to run with the hydrogen system. According to people who actually turn their vehicle into hydrogen powered ones, you will notice a huge difference from the very first time the engine runs.

Eventually, your miles per gallon ratio will grow to new heights allowing you to not only save gas, but also increase your mileage by anywhere from 25%-50% and sometimes more. Since each vehicle is different, results will vary based on several factors, but a positive effect will occur in all of them just by using a water powered car.

Water As Fuel Can Help Your Engine

Trust me; it is not rocket science. Your engine will be sparkling clean as soon as you start using water. This is because, a self steam-cleaning and starts to run on a new level. The steam from the water will just continue cleaning your engine.

However, it all starts with you understanding how important it is in today's world to have your engine powered with water. Unless you want to continue to pay $3 to almost $5 per gallon and not utilize these water fuel car enhancers there is no point in getting one. On the other hand, if you're ready to quit spending your hard earned money on gas instead of other things then a water powered car is right for you.

Biodiesel - The Top 5 Reasons

By Joseph Then

Biodiesel is preferred over diesel fuel for many good reasons. If you intend to address the rising prices of diesel fuel the shift to Biodiesel is a good option .

The following are top five (5) reasons why you should shift to Biodiesel to run your vehicle.

Reason One - Lesser water than diesel fuel

All types of fuel contain to a certain extent a mixture of water. However, the actual amount of water component used up in the fuel you put in your car can vary. If there is an excess amount of water component, this may prove to be harmful to your car.

For Biodiesel, the good news is that it contains much lesser water as compare to other fuels.

Reason Two - Biodiesel is less expensive

You can actually make your own Biodiesel which makes it very affordable, but even if you are buying it at the pump, it is cheaper than regular diesel. Biodiesel also is better for your vehicle and allows you to spend less in service and maintenance.

Reason Three - Biodiesel is better for your vehicle

Biodiesel burns cleaner. As such, it promotes less wear and tear on your engine. Over time you will see you are saving money due to needing less repairs and service.

Reason Four - Biodiesel is renewable

Having a renewable fuel source is something that is very important. A lot of people just did not see that the current fuel sources are limited and one day it will dry up. Once the source is exhausted, the supply is gone.

Utilizing renewable energy sources, like Biodiesel, will ensure that the chances of running out is minimal. Biodiesel is made from natural ingredients that can be made again and again.

Reason Five - Biodiesel causes least harm to the environment

Vehicle emissions are one of the top contributors to high pollution levels. With so many vehicles on the road that is not a surprise. Regular fuel is dirty and gives off many pollutants. Biodiesel burns clean and gives off lesser pollutants.

Hydrogen Gas Saver - Is This thing even safe for me and my car?

By Dr. Peter Hazel

You've read in the newspapers, heard it on the radio, seen it on TV, and watched as it work on the internethydrogen gas saver (with water as fuel) is a MUST-HAVE for saving loads of dollars from oil prices and boosting up your car's mileage.

"Yeah, rightBUT what about in the safety department?!" you might exclaim.

I PERFECTLY understand that fear of yours.

Who wants to save a hundred dollars while riding a car that can blow up and toast you with it's hydrogen inside?!

HOWEVER, let me parry those doubts you have - hydrogen gas savers are PERFECTLY and 100% safe for everyday use!

First and foremost, hydrogen is a gas that's totally non-toxic to humans. That means you shouldn't worry about inhaling it.

Surely, safe doesn't stand for "I can handle it even when I'm drunk". Being careful with using hydrogen gas savers is a MUST. BUT it's just as safe as your usual (and costly) gasoline.

If the gasoline guy at the fuel station fills your tank with gasoline in a snap, handling and filling your car with hydrogen using hydrogen fuel cells is just as EASY.

All you need to empower your car with HHO (Brown's Gas) - which is 3 times more efficient than gasoline, is DIY kit (for hydrogen gas saver generator) and a little bit of water.

The moment the hydrogen fuel cell is built, it will take care of all the process and functions to get your car on the road.

No, it doesn't come stored with hydrogen, which means your car won't go "BOOM" due to excessive amounts of this gas.

HOWEVER, by using the electricity from your car's battery, it will initiate electrolysis of water.

Electrolysis will shatter water down to its basic components (H2O), take the hydrogen atoms, and deliver it to your car's combustion chamberproviding you hydrogen-on-the-go.

It's one of the MOST efficient and safe energy sourcesINDEED.

And even NASA puts it to good use on their shuttles to get it space-borne so to speak. I don't see any reason why those worries should stop you from tapping on this invaluable energy and fuel resource.

It's about time you take advantage of hydrogen gas savers.

Make Biodiesel At Home

By Joseph Then

Biodiesel has many benefits, but one of the most exciting things about biodiesel is that anyone can make it at home. Imagine being able to make your fuel for your vehicle or even to create energy for your home right in your garage. That would mean major savings for you.

You may think that making biodiesel is very difficult but let me tell you this; it is simpler than you think. It is always better to make your own biodiesel as there are many rewards which come with it.

Supplies of Biodiesel

To make a small batch of biodiesel at home all you need are a few supplies. You need the actual ingredients to make the biodiesel - alcohol, lye and vegetable oil. You also need some supplies to mix the fuel - empty plastic bottles, duct tape, a blender and measuring cups. Be sure anything you use to make your biodiesel is only used for that purpose and never used again in the kitchen for cooking.

Once you have your supplies, all you need to do now is to get them ready and begin learning how to make biodiesel.

The Process is Safe

Making biodiesel is not as dangerous as you think it is. There is little risk for fire or explosion as you may expect with fuel. However, this doesn't mean that you should not protect yourself. In fact, you need to be careful or you can burn yourself. You need to be careful and realize the mixture does get hot.

In order to get the end product, biodiesel, you will have to go through a few processes- mixing the ingredients, letting it set, separating the byproduct and biodiesel and then cleaning the biodiesel. The processes will take as little as a few days to weeks to produce but it all depends on how clean the vegetable oil you use is.

Small or Large Process?

Biodiesel can be made on a small or on a large scale. Biodiesel kits come in handy if you need to make smaller scale of biodiesel. For example, if you want to use biodiesel in your lawnmower or your lawn equipment, biodiesel kit is the way to go. It is simple to use and will require a small amount of supplies.

However, if you are thinking of running it in your vehicle you would need more biodiesel. Therefore I suggest that you use a biodiesel processor. By using a biodiesel processor, it makes the process simple and faster too. You may need more supplies but it is all worth it as you will not have to wait a long time. This is because the processor will do most of the work for you.

4 Important Safety Tips for Those New To Hiking

By Donald Saunders

Hiking provides hundreds of thousands of people with tremendous pleasure and a sense of adventure every year and 99% of the time it is far from dangerous. But, people do get lost and have accidents from time to time and it can then become a dangerous activity very quickly if you are not prepared.

Here we look at are just 4 basic safety tips to make sure that your hiking doesn't get you into trouble.

Safety Tip No1 - Consider taking a partner of friend along.

There's really no need to worry about heading out by yourself if you're taking a short hike in a nearby area on easy terrain, but, if you are heading out into heavily forested wilderness areas with winding trails and steep canyons then the possibility of getting lost or sustaining injury becomes very real and you ought to think carefully about whether or not you are wise to head out alone.

Having a partner along can have many advantages, especially if that person is a seasoned hiker. Clearly, 'two heads are better than one' and if you do get lost or get into difficulty you're a lot less likely to panic if you have someone with you to help solve the problem.

Safety Tip No 2 - Ensure that someone knows where you're going.

If you are a novice hiker then you should stick to clearly marked and well traveled trails and ought not to stray from these trails to explore until you have some experience and have mastered the basics of map and compass work. But, it won't take you too long before you are ready to tackle some more adventurous hiking and the possibility of getting injured or lost will arise.

As a consequence, you should always tell somebody where you are going and when you plan to return so that they can dispatch a search party if you don't return when expected.

Safety Tip No 3 - Ensure that you take along some basic equipment.

It's essential to carry a basic survival kit with you and your local hiking club will give you advice on the items which this should include. What we're looking at here are things like a lighter and matches, a good knife, a first aid kit and a flashlight.

In addition, it is a good idea to take a map and compass along and a fully charged cell phone.

Safety Tip No 4 - Ensure that you take some basic provisions with you.

Water or other fluids such as sports drinks are essential as you can lose a great deal of fluid even over a short period of time on a hot day. You should note though that water is bulky, so take enough but not too much. Don't forget though that you must not drink from local streams as natural water sources may appear to be inviting but they are often filled with bacteria and may make you sick very quickly.

Also do not forget to take along sufficient food to last you. There's no pleasure in being hungry out on the trail but don't forget that you can last a lot longer without food than without water.
