Coverage for Seattle Auto Insurance

By Steve Turner

When you are purchasing your Seattle Auto Insurance policy it is important that you understand that there are a number of different choices that you have on the type of coverage that you can have. While there is a standard auto insurance policy, many drivers opt to add extra coverage for their protection.

There are a large number of insurance providers and each will have their own coverage packages. Some of the choices that you will have to choose from include auto glass, emergency roadside, and tow truck insurance.

The state of Washington does not require you to carry this level of insurance. However if you do find yourself stuck on the side of the road, having tow truck coverage will be preferable to having to pay $300 for a tow truck to come help you.

If you live in certain parts of Seattle you might have had the unfortunate experience of having one of your windows broken by vandals. Window replacements can range in price from $500-$700. Because these amounts are usually under your deductible amounts you will be responsible for most of the replacement cost yourself.

Calculate the cost of adding any of these optional types of coverage to your policy's premium before you actually add them. If you find that adding auto glass insurance is going to cost you $600 more a year in premiums then you are probably going to be better off to chose to pay for your window replacement yourself.

One other option to add to your policy is daily rental insurance coverage. This allows you to be able to have a rental car if your primary vehicle is totaled in an accident.

Having this coverage can take away the worry of how you will get to work if you can't use your vehicle. However this coverage may be included in your comprehensive or collision coverage so make sure and ask your insurance agent before adding this to your policy. - 2368
